Cell congestion. Small-island networks are sized for a winter population and August multiplies it. Every provider on the island suffers the same thing, because it is the same tower.
Do I get a Greek number for taverna bookings?
Not a Greek one. We do sell Greece plans with calls and texts, and they come with a number, but it is assigned after purchase and may not be Greek; Airalo's Greece packages are data-only. For taverna bookings, keep your home SIM reachable for SMS or book through WhatsApp, which most places now use.
