The verdict for Greece
The ordinary case first. Our Greece plans start at $1.99 with best value under $0.50 per gigabyte, and a fortnight of Athens and two islands typically consumes 3 to 5 GB. Paying a daily unlimited rate for that is poor value and we would say so plainly.
The interesting argument for unlimited in Greece is not volume, it is anxiety. Island hopping is logistically fragile — ferries move, cancel and reschedule, and you end up checking apps compulsively. Some people genuinely prefer not to have an allowance ticking down while they do that. That is a real psychological benefit even when it is not a financial one.
Our response is that a 50 GB Greek plan with a 180-day window removes the same anxiety at a fraction of the outlay. But we recognise the preference is legitimate. Where Holafly wins outright is a long Greek summer of heavy tethering — a season on Paros running a business from a laptop is a different animal from a two-week holiday.

Planning coverage in Greece
Athens and the large islands — Crete, Rhodes, Corfu — are well covered. The interesting problem in Greece is water. Ferry crossings between islands lose signal in the middle, sometimes for an hour or more, and that is exactly when your ferry operator decides to change the departure gate. Small Cyclades coverage is fine in the ports and patchy in the interior. Mountain mainland Greece has real gaps.

Island hopping is logistics-heavy: ferry apps, accommodation messaging, constant schedule checking. Peak August also congests small-island cells enough that you will notice it, whoever you buy from.
Check the exact plan's terms for activation, hotspot and top-ups. Do not infer its mobile network or IP location from country coverage.
