The verdict for Italy
A conventional two-week Italy holiday consumes surprisingly little. Maps in cities that predate street grids, restaurant research, museum apps, and a steady trickle of photos to family. Call it 3 to 6 GB. At under $0.50 per gigabyte on our better Italy tiers, that is a rounding error against the cost of a single Roman dinner.
Holafly's proposition is not that it is cheaper. It is that you never think about it. For most Italy visitors that is a premium paid to solve a problem they would not have had.
But Italy also attracts long slow stays — a month in a Florence apartment, a summer in Puglia — and remote workers who tether all day. Italian urban coverage is excellent and 5G is common in Rome, Milan, Florence and Naples. The honest weak spots are vertical rather than remote: the Amalfi coast road drops signal between headlands, the Dolomites and Gran Sasso lose it in valleys, and some of the hill towns in Umbria and Basilicata are thinner than their popularity suggests. Sardinian and Sicilian interiors are patchier than the coasts.
