North America (3 areas) eSIM plans at a glance
Wanderly lists 41 fixed-data North America (3 areas) plans, ranging from 1GB up to 50GB over 3 to 180 days. Prices start at $3.99, and the lowest cost per gigabyte is $0.66/GB on the 50GB 3-day plan.
Unlimited day-passes are also available from $4.99 per day, billed per day rather than per gigabyte. 8 of the 46 North America (3 areas) data-only plans can be topped up without reinstalling the eSIM.
Calls and SMS depend on the selected plan. Install using the supplied QR code and keep your home number on its own line. Activation timing varies by plan; check your selected plan's terms before purchasing or installing.
Choose a North America eSIM for your itinerary
USA, Canada and Mexico on one trip
For a route such as Vancouver–Seattle or San Diego–Tijuana, compare one North America bundle with separate country plans. Confirm the USA, Canada and Mexico in the selected offer's country list and match validity to the whole journey. The same allowance can be used across the included countries; it is not a fresh allowance at each border.
One country or a long stay
If you stay only in Canada, Mexico or the USA, compare that country's plan for the same allowance and travel dates. Compare total prices for your route rather than assuming a regional bundle is cheaper. For a longer trip, check whether a top-up is available and whether it changes the expiry date.
Border crossings, work and road trips
Check activation before installing: a first-connection plan may start during a covered stopover, while other plans start earlier. Verify hotspot permissions and any daily high-speed limit if you will work from a laptop. Country coverage does not guarantee service on remote roads, in national parks or at sea; save your route offline.
Open the current plan's details before buying: check validity, activation timing, coverage, hotspot rules and any fair-use limits. Calls and texts are included only when stated for that plan.
North America eSIM: USA, Canada and Mexico coverage
For a USA, Canada and Mexico itinerary, compare the North America plans above and confirm all three countries on the offer you select. A regional plan lets you use one allowance across its included destinations without installing a separate profile at each border. Check the exact networks and terms; regional coverage does not mean service everywhere on the continent.
Compare the total cost for your dates with separate country plans. Check whether the allowance is fixed for the whole trip or resets daily, when validity starts and whether a top-up is available. Hotspot support, reduced speeds and calls or texts depend on the selected plan.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use one eSIM in the USA, Canada and Mexico?
Yes, if all three countries appear in the selected plan's coverage list. A USA-only or Canada-only plan should not be assumed to work across the border. Check the networks and validity for your complete route before buying.
Does my data allowance reset when I cross the border?
A fixed-data regional allowance is shared across its included countries; crossing a border does not create a new allowance. Daily plans follow their stated reset and high-speed rules. Check the selected plan's terms.
Is a North America bundle better than separate country plans?
Compare the total price for the allowance and days you need in each country. A regional bundle can simplify a multi-country route, while a country plan may suit a single-country stay. Neither option is always cheaper.
Can I share a North America eSIM with my laptop?
Check hotspot permission on the exact plan before relying on it for a laptop. Also check any daily high-speed allowance or reduced-speed limit; an unlimited label alone does not establish unrestricted tethering.
When does a North America eSIM start?
Follow the selected plan's activation rule. Validity can start after purchase, installation or first supported network connection. A covered transit stop can start a first-connection plan before you reach your main destination.
